All was looking pretty fantabulous to us, however, there may be days when we want to tuck it all away, out of site, out of mind. Who really wants to gaze into their open clothes closet first thing in the morning? Of course, the open closet concept is a huge motivator to keeping it "picture perfect" at all times since it's all out in the open, but who really wants pressure like that? And it still creates some business that sometimes just needs to be shut out.
That's where closet doors typically come in... and our closets once had some typical bi-folds, however, when we painted and started working on the project, they were taken down.
Plus, we moved in. Meaning our master bedroom and all it's furniture have since taken over the space...
And our furniture isn't small....
So when you pair our bed and nightstands next to the closet, there is no longer room for a bi-fold to open...
Enter a birthday Target Gift Card {Thank You BFF!}, used to purchase two curtain panels at $7.99 each and two tension rods at $3.99 each.
The curtain panels were the perfect and uber easy solution to the small space, and the best part is they added a splash of color to the bleak looking walls!
Notice the tight fit between the closet and nightstand? No way a bi-fold would be working here...
And for the times when I want to chill at my new desk space for awhile, a little hook {painted white to match the trim} was screwed in to serve as a curtain tie back:
Just using some twine, the curtain stays held back and out of the way!

And now for the Before & Afters:
Using window coverings solely for windows is out, and using window coverings for closets, room dividers, shelving concealers or to add mega drama behind a bed... is the way to go! You gotta heart that!
Who else out there is getting creative with window treatments, thinkin' outside that window box and using them for something different? I would heart to hear!
